The Dior Homme Spidey Senses cologne is intensely masculine and woody and is for the man both confident in his tenderness and strength. Tom Holland is am an embodiment of what many men want to be today — kind, attractive, and confident. He is best known for his role as Peter Parker in Spider-Man, and I thought it would be fun to add a superhero touch to the campaign to bring in a broader demographic and add some playfulness to the exquisite brand of Dior.
Campaign Details
I wanted the Spiderman logo to pop, so I opted for black and white for most ad backgrounds and let the perfume do the talking. Blue and red are vibrant colors, so they truly capture the eye. Blue also creates a sense of credibility and trust, while red brings a romantic tone. Spiderman is heard in the Spider-Man movies saying, “my spidey senses are tingling,” which I wanted to play off of in this campaign, hence the cologne name “Spidey Senses.” I think it works for a cologne because they are used to entice the senses of the nose, bringing back memories of places and people we have known and loved.
Inspiration
The Spider-Man suit inspired the design for the cologne bottle and I genuinely feel it will play to anyone’s inner child, whether 9 or 59. After watching Tom Holland on the big screens for the past few years, there can be something seductive about owning a part of them and purchasing something where the design is so unique to the celebrity, which is exciting for many consumers.
Scent is an immensely intimate part of our lives and being able to smell like your favorite celebrity or even someone you secretly wish you were, gives people a sense of pleasure and nobility.
